Trained in law in Heidelberg and Santiago de Chile, he has held academic and research positions at the Max Planck Institute for International Law in Heidelberg and at Leipzig University\u2019s Institute for International Law. His doctoral work at G\u00f6ttingen University focused on sexualized and gender-based violence before the International Criminal Court, a field in which he has also supported universal jurisdiction cases before German courts. Before joining ECCHR, he worked as Senior Legal Advisor for the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) in Tunis.
